A rare all over shibori piece from the 1960s with a delicate pastel floral pattern. This silk piece boasts a hand painted peony motif embellished with hand twisted shibori technique. Each small shibori knot creates this delicate floral motif before being dyed and then untied. This traditional technique has been recently industrialised and it is now very rare to see real shibori craftsmanship. You will now find many recent style shibori kimonos/haoris which are usually not made of silk and with all over machine made shibori.
