This beautiful Haori jacket, in a deep pink brocade silk reminiscent of Yves Saint Laurent Haute couture, is a rare piece in an over the knee length style haori with long flowing kimono sleeves. The stunning lining in hand stencilled silk with gold embellishments is a great example of the intricate work of kimono designs, making the inside as beautiful as the outside. 

Haori jackets are a specific piece of garment from the kimono clothing umbrella, it is meant to be worn as a cardigan or light jacket over a kimono outfit. This particular one was designed for a formal event and to be worn over a furisode (longer sleeved kimono for unmarried women).
